Painting at Night

This class introduces students to painting, techniques, and concepts, with emphasis on artistic expression. Painting from still-life, landscape, and life models provide the opportunity for experimentation in an open studio format.

The instructor will guide you through color theory, perspective, composition, figure/ground relationships, and spatial concepts.

Acrylic paint will be primarily used for this class but we will also explore and use other mediums to encourage and nourish individuality and creativity.    

When: Thursdays / 7:00pm - 9:00pm

Cost: $30

Provided Items: Brushes, paint and canvases.

About Walter

Walter John Rodriguez was born in Havana, Cuba in 1981 and has spent most of his life in New Jersey. He earned a BFA degree from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia in 2002. Since then, his work has been included in many private collections and used for other public commissions. He has participated in multiple group exhibits in the New York City area over the last ten years and his themes derive from particular reflections on life, social issues, politics and power relationships. His style employs experimentation with mixed media, drawing, anatomy and expressive brushstrokes in order to develop meaning in his compositions.
